Why I Created the Warrior Series: A Personal Journey

My journey with Stoicism began around 2015, not hanging from a pull-up bar, but with a book. Marcus Aurelius' Meditations, to be precise. His words resonated deeply, offering a timeless guide to navigating life's challenges with wisdom and resilience. It was a philosophy that spoke to the warrior within, emphasising inner strength, self-control, and a focus on what we can control.

But embracing Stoicism wasn't always easy. It required me to confront my own limiting beliefs, to acknowledge my vulnerabilities, and to cultivate a new way of thinking. It was a process of self-discovery and growth, one that continues to this day.

Years later, those Stoic principles would be put to the ultimate test. During my 100,000 Pull-Up Challenge in 2023, my muscles were burning, my grip was failing, and the sheer magnitude of the task ahead felt overwhelming. But amidst the physical strain, a quiet inner strength emerged – the very same strength I had cultivated through years of studying and practicing Stoicism. It allowed me to persevere through the pain, to stay focused on my goal, and to ultimately achieve what once seemed impossible.

As a pull-up endurance athlete with over 500,000 pull-ups under my belt, I've learned firsthand the profound connection between mind and body. Pushing my limits day after day, rep after rep, has taught me the importance of mental fortitude, focus, and unwavering self-belief. Stoicism has been my constant companion, my guiding philosophy, throughout this incredible journey. It has helped me not only achieve athletic success but also navigate the ups and downs of life with greater clarity and resilience.
